Into the Future With Madame Alexander Dolls

The Matilda Company proudly presents the 2011 Madame Alexander doll collection. We are delighted to join the Alexander Doll Company as they celebrate their 88th year of creating dolls to delight new generations of children and doll lovers while honoring Madame Alexander's vision and standards. This vision into the future incorporates contemporary characters, modern materials, and talented designers while upholding the original high standards and impeccable taste of Madame Alexander. We are proud to offer outstanding new collections, including Cissy couture dolls alongside a Favorite Friends playdoll outfitted by 11-year old fashion design prodigy, Cecilia Cassini. The newly sculpted Cissy features a concealed shoulder joint, 45 degree elbow joint, ball-jointed wrists that bend, and removable hands.

Since Madame Alexander introduced her first Scarlett O'Hara in 1937, dolls based on the characters from Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer Prize winning novel Gone With the Wind have always been the most beloved offerings, and this year is no exception with Belle Watling, Dressing Gown Scarlett, and Bonnie Blue Butler. Also portrayed this year is the elegant Margaret Mitchell herself.

The four March sisters (Jo, Beth, Meg, Amy - Little Women) are back as they have never been before - warmly attired for a day of ice skating on the frozen pond.

Madame Alexander Doll Company celebrates the diversity of the world's cultures and colorful traditions with six new dolls in the International Collection: Spain, Ukraine, Emerald Isle, France, Gypsy, and Tahiti.

Madame Alexander's legacy continues with new History of Fashion dolls including: Anastasia and C.J. Walker. Regal fashions are also recreated with the wives of King Henry VIII dolls based on the Showtime television series, The Tudors, as well as a King Henry VIII doll. Dramatic fashions worn by some of the most infamous leading characters of the new Showtime series The Borgias are also recreated by the designers at the Alexander Doll Company this year.

Pink Tuxedo Rockette, in one of the dance troop's most dazzling costumes, joins the Madame Alexander's Rockettes Collection featuring authentically dressed dolls from past Radio City Christmas Spectaculars.

Dorothy in the Poppy Fields, Magic Bubble Glinda the Good Witch, and Haunted Forest Wicked Witch of the West are the newest additions to Madame Alexander's long list of Wizard of Oz characters. These small-scale likenesses of the movie's beloved characters have been equally cherished by generations of doll lovers.

Peter Pan, starring Cathy Rigby, and The Addams Family come to life this year with captivating characters meticulously costumed based on the new musical sensations.

Storyland dolls bring to life favorites from the printed pages of children's fairy tales and literature. New dolls this year include Alice in Wonderland, Frog Footman, Ring Around the Rosie, Mother Goose, Bo Peep, and Little Thumbkins.

A new collection of dolls feature three endearing Little Golden Books titles: Shy Little Kitten, Tootle, and The Poky Little Puppy --- the best-selling Little Golden Book of all!
